If it does not hold the stem up, turn the screw one full turn tighter and try again. Continue until you reach the tightness necessary to hold your sprinkler stem. It should take three to four pounds of pressure to push the POPUPHOLDUP™ on and off. Once you find the proper tension, adjust the rest of your “POPUPHOLDUP™’s to match. Make additional tightening as necessary. The list of sprinkler manufactures we tested in order of size from the largest diameter (start the adjustment with the screw flush to the end of the nut), to the smallest diameter (start with the screw 3/16” past the nut) is as follows: Orbits® stem is the largest. It takes little tension to hold the stem up. Irritrol®, Lawn Genie®, Rainbird®, Hunter®, Champion® and Nelson® are all close enough that they can use the same “POPUPHOLDUP” adjustment. The bolt is about 1/16” past the end of the nut. Toro®, K-Rain®, and Weather Matic® are the smallest. The bolt is about 3/16” out of the nut. ALL TRADE NAMES ARE REGISTERED TRADEMARKS OF RESPECTIVE MANUFACTURES LISTED. Back to Main Page: Sprinkler Head Hold Up - POPUPHOLDUP - Sprinkler Maintenance |
